The OMX™ Organic Metabolomics test evaluates urine metabolites—including organic acids, amino acids, and other key compounds—to assist practitioners in unraveling their patient’s metabolic pathways, revealing their unique Metabolic Signature.
OMX™ metabolomic testing goes beyond traditional organic acid testing. OMX characterizes metabolic phenotypes by presenting analytes in pathway categories to more easily identify metabolomic deviations that can underlie—and even precede—disease Indications - Mood Disorders
- Mitochondrial Dysfunction
- Fatigue
- Chronic Stress
- Inflammation
- Depression,
- Cardiovascular disease,
- Neurocognitive decline
- Diabetes
Overview Understanding an individual's metabolome, combined with their medical history and lifestyle, allows clinicians to establish a larger picture and provide support from the bottom up. Ideally, practitioners will use OMX to establish a baseline metabolic signature for healthy patients. The baseline could be used for future comparison if symptoms, disease, or illness occurs. Methodology LC-MS/MS
Specimen Urine Please be aware that urine sampling is representative of recent dietary intake and metabolism of amino acids, it is more variable than in plasma. It is useful for controlled diets or to assess for efficacy of recent dietary changes (typically last 24/48 hours). Amino acid levels in urine can be influenced by abnormal kidney function and is ideal for children and adults as it is conveniently collected at home. Container Yellow capped Cup Patient preparation - Avoid consuming fruits, jams, and jellies for 48 hours prior to collection
